Ceramic Coatings in Kingston, ON

Ceramic coated Ram truck

Elevate and Protect Your Vehicle With a Ceramic Coating

Some of you may be asking yourself, "What is a ceramic coating?"

Essentially, ceramic coatings provide an unparalleled level of protection against various environmental elements, including UV rays (which cause oxidation), brake dust, iron fallout, water spots, tree sap, and insect residue. They also provide superior self-cleaning properties, helping maintain a pristine finish with minimal effort.

By forming a durable, transparent layer over the vehicle's paint, the ceramic coating acts as a shield, safeguarding the surface from scratches, swirl marks, and fading, thereby preserving the cars pristine appearance for years to come.

Additionally, ceramic coatings offer hydrophobic properties, repelling water and dirt, making maintenance easier and ensuring a consistently glossy finish. Beyond protection, ceramic coatings enhance the depth and clarity of the paint, intensifying its shine and enhancing the overall aesthetic appeal of the vehicle.

Ultimately, the long-term benefits of ceramic coating outweigh the initial investment, providing superior protection, easier maintenance, and a stunning finish that elevates the appearance and value of your vehicle!

The Ceramic Coating Process

Before the coating is installed, your vehicle must be properly prepped and corrected. If the coating is applied without doing the proper prep work, then you won't be able to get all of the benefits from the coating.

That's why we first, hand wash your vehicle, then follow up with an iron remover and clay bar treatment (which decontaminates your vehicle's paint). After the prep work is done, we then get rid of majority of the scratches and swirls in your vehicle's paint with either a 1-step or 2-step paint correction. Once those steps are complete, we then apply the ceramic coating.

At A+ Auto Detailing, we offer two types of ceramic coatings, a short term coating and a long term coating. Although, maintaining your vehicle after a ceramic coating is key to preserving its hydrophobic properties and long-term protection, ensuring the coating performs at its best for years to come.

Our Coatings

At A+ Auto Detailing, we offer two premium ceramic coating options to suit your needs. GYEON Q² Flash EVO is our professional-grade, long-term coating designed for maximum durability and gloss, with protection lasting up to 10 years (under warranty) — ideal for vehicles, equipment, and farm machinery exposed to harsh conditions. For a more budget-friendly option, GYEON Q² CanCoat EVO provides up to 12 months of sleek, hydrophobic protection with quick application and high visual impact, making it perfect for those looking to refresh and protect their investment with minimal downtime.

GYEON Q² CanCoat EVO

Q² CanCoat EVO is our short term ceramic coating. If properly maintained, this coating can last up to 12 months. This coating offers durable performance, improved visual enhancement, and hydrophobic properties, just like the Q² Flash EVO. The only difference is, this coating doesn't last nearly as long.

GYEON Q² Flash EVO

Introducing our long term coating, GYEON Q² Flash EVO, a cutting-edge ceramic coating designed exclusively for Certified Mobile Detailers, like ourselves. This advanced coating delivers exceptional hydrophobic and self-cleaning properties, along with long-lasting protection against harsh chemicals and UV rays. With Q² Flash EVO, your vehicle gets professional-grade defense and a brilliant finish—anytime, anywhere.

This coating can last up to 10 years with proper maintenance. To achieve this extended lifespan, we apply an annual “top-up” coating after the initial application, which helps maintain its hydrophobic, self-cleaning properties and the professional-grade protection you expect. Without the yearly top-ups—but with regular washing and care—you can still expect reliable performance for up to 3 years.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Ceramic coatings, like the premium GYEON products we use, form a durable, semi-permanent layer of protection on your vehicle’s surface. Once applied, the coating chemically bonds with the paint, creating a hydrophobic (water-repellent) and UV-resistant barrier. This helps protect against contaminants like dirt, road salt, bird droppings, and harsh weather while enhancing gloss and making cleaning much easier. Unlike waxes or sealants, ceramic coatings offer long-lasting protection that can last for years with proper maintenance.

Several Factors affect the durability of a ceramic coating; how often you drive your vehicle, what weather conditions your in, how you maintain the coating, how the coating was installed, etc...

For us, the durability of our Long-Term Coating, 10 years with required maintenance. For our Short-Term Coating, 12 months, with little maintenance. No matter what coating you find on the market, none of their durability claims will hold true UNLESS properly maintained. A ceramic coating is like skin, it's job is to protect what's underneath, but it won't work if its pores are clogged. The reason you wash your hands is the same reason you regularly maintain your vehicle.

For this reason, we give customers two options after we install the coating. We can register the vehicle under our coating provider's (GYEON) 10 year warranty program, or no warranty at all. The 10 year warranty requires annual maintenance by our team, where we clean the vehicle and apply a fresh top coat. If you choose to not register the vehicle under our warranty, the durability of the coating diminishes to a useful life of 3 years.

Ceramic coatings provide the most extreme protection to your vehicles exterior. Your vehicle will be protected from UV rays, oxidation, chemical contamination like bird droppings, bug splatters, tree sap, iron fallout, brake/rail dust, or any unwanted chemicals that fall onto the paint. Ceramic coatings have SiO2 bonds much stronger than your traditional wax or sealant, which gives them the upper hand in longevity.

Ceramic coatings also provide insane hydrophobic properties! Due to the nature of the coating's SiO2 bonds, water repels off the paint and glass, making it hard for road grime to stick and very easy to clean. Because we polish the paint before applying the coating, ceramic coatings look extremely shiny and feel super slick.

If you want to protect the exterior of your investment for years to come, ceramic coatings are definitely the way to go.

NO! It will not protect your car against scratches, swirls or scuffs, unless maintained correctly. It won’t protect you against stone chips or any other mechanical damage. A ceramic coating is not paint protection film. Although they help mitigate minor scuffs and scrapes, they do NOT provide the mechanical barrier PPF provides.
